    • VUC Hunts mimic a safe and sporting bird hunt in conditions and circumstances typically encountered in the field.  Virginia bird dogs of every stripe and color will be in evidence with both the pointing and flushing breeds included in a team effort between the dog and handler to find and harvest the game birds.  Points accumulate for finding the game a harvesting the birds in a safe and sportsman like manner. The dogs are expected to hunt aggressively and the handler is expected to be a good shot, and when the results are tallied, the highest score wins the plaque.  Events for beginners and started dogs, as well as seasoned veterans with finished older dogs are separated to create a level playing field for the hunter and the experience level of each dog.​
